<p><strong>Hello my friends Greg Clowminzer here, your business coach.<br />
</strong></p>
<p>In this video I want to talk about how to play nicer and be more effective in the social media sandbox.  I&#8217;m going to share with you some of the things that I&#8217;m noticing going on within social media landscape. So, I believe this is a really important video for you to watch particularly if you&#8217;re that old school professional, sales representative or marketing person trying to make a smooth transition into the social media game.<span id="more-2634"></span></p>
<p>I see a lot of San Diego business owners and professionals creating content out there and they&#8217;re sharing their content on social media and it just kinda goes thud out there. What I mean by thud, is that you spend a considerable amount of time creating a video or an article and you put it out through social media and there&#8217;s nothing that happens.  That ends up being really frustrating for the business owner or professional people, where you are either creating the content yourself or paying someone else and spending good money on creating content and there are no likes, no comment and no reshares. Basically there is no conversation at all.</p>
<p>For years business owners and professional have heard that content is king on the web. I want to share some observations that I have been making with regard to what is happening on the internet and social media. I believe content still is king but there&#8217;s something that is even more important than content alone and that is engagement. So, what is engagement?  I liken engagement to an analogy, that if you and I we&#8217;re going to up drag out the ping pong table and to start to play ping pong, Google the number one search engine really doesn&#8217;t care how great a server you or I am and if I ace you on a serve or not. What Google is really looking at, at least from my point of view and based on my understanding, is they are looking to see if you and I can you keep the ball in play and they are very interested in our volley scores and not the wins. The bottom line is that Google is looking to see if there is a conversation happening along side the content.</p>
<p>Watch this video and I will share a strategy for building your audience which will get you more eyes on your content and increase your readership on your blog, website and social media content.</p>

<h5>Start Scheduling Content Creation Time</h5>
<p>If you&#8217;re a small business owner or professional service provider you certainly understand the importance marketing and creating content so that the people interested in your product or services can find you on the internet. So this shouldn&#8217;t be new to you if you&#8217;ve been in business for a while. One other things in what I want talk about this video is for you to start scheduling content creation time and getting on your calendar as a routine business practice for growing your business.<span id="more-2615"></span></p>
<p>Get you calendar out right now and schedule a reoccurring appointment with yourself and dedicate a specific time each day, or once a week or one day per month to write or create videos. Whatever your content creation vehicle you want to schedule that. Just like with anything else if you don&#8217;t schedule it, it won’t get done.</p>
<p>Creating valuable content is becoming more and more important help distinguish you from the other people in your industry. So I really want to encourage you to make the time to create a content schedule and get it in your calendar. For now just get in the habit of creating the content you can always go back late and spend time editing and posting and all that. You want to get into the habit of creating content on a regular basis as soon as possible.</p>
<p>Now one other things that I&#8217;ve realized lately is creating content can often be challenging for business owners and professionals. Things like writers block or creating video content block.</p>
<p>One of the new services that I am now offering people is called content creation coaching. So if you are an existing client in you want to start creating content we can actually start using Skype for Google Hangout. There&#8217;s a process that I we&#8217;ll run you through in terms of creating content they can be repurposed for your marketing and/or just getting your story out into the world. I actually believe this is a whole new opportunity for a very specific type of coaching out there and it&#8217;s much like an interview but instead of the coach advising you or just listening to what&#8217;s going on, the coach is really helping you in drawing out and capturing your own wisdom and your message.</p>
<p>If you are an existing coaching client than I encourage you to use your coach to help you create content by first getting it out of you and than supporting you to repurposing your message.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re not a current coaching client than I would invite you to do is reach out and have a complimentary consultation with me and to talk about some of your ideas for creating valuable content to share your message with the world. Creating FAQ for your business is a really great start for most businesses.<br />
I really want to encourage you to start scheduling your content creation today and make it a regular practice.</p>

Popularity simply means that you have several people who you are engaged in some form of dialogue with you or vise versa.</p>
<p>How cool would it be to be surrounded by a group of peers who could help you achieve your business goals. Wouldn’t be nice to share resources, get honest feedback and be held accountable to the execution of your online marketing game plan.</p>

This will be a working mastermind group where you will be responsible for investing your time and energy into your own personal project as well as committing to the success of each other.</p>

<li>Run a seminar on how to increase your profits in your business &#8211; or save money. Give away your notes to anyone who offers you their contact information.</li>
<li>Create target list of select prospects. Call and ask permission to email. Send an email then follow right up with a phone call.</li>
<li>Donate a small block of your time to a school/fundraising auction. The exposure may draw in some clients.</li>
<li>In a direct mail piece, attach a check made out to yourself in a letter and say, &#8220;I&#8217;ll buy your initial consultation for you.&#8221;</li>
<li>Discover centers of influence in the city and market to them. Could consider them the Dream 100, or donate time to get endorsements.</li>
<li>Join Rotary Club and Toastmasters.</li>
<li>Join up with a hurting magazine to J.V. &#8211; they carry my ads and you help them with your accounting services.</li>
<li>Ask people, &#8220;How would you see us working together?&#8221;</li>
<li>Be the founder of a think tank and invite the brightest minds in the field to participant. As a participant, it implies your own genius. Put a press release out calling for applications.</li>
<li>Go to a client and say, &#8220;Who would you like me to help?&#8221; They will likely suggest someone. This is another way of asking for referrals, but is less &#8220;salesy&#8221;.</li>
<li>Donate your time to a high-profile non-profit or market through big centers of influence. I&#8217;ll get referrals.</li>
