From Struggling Startup to Industry Leader: How One Man’s Resilience and Determination Transformed His Business

“Sometimes life knocks us down hard, and it can be tempting to stay there. But it’s in those moments that we have the opportunity to show just how resilient we truly are.” –Greg Clowminzer

There was a small company that I worked with, which was struggling to stay afloat in a competitive market through the pandemic . The company’s founder was referred to me from another client and he was determined to turn things around.

Despite the many setbacks and challenges he faced, he refused to give up. Together we worked tirelessly to come up with new ideas and strategies to grow the company. I also made it a point that he stay positive and keep his team motivated, even when things seemed bleak.

Over time, his resilience and hard work began to pay off. His company started to gain traction in the market and his company was awarded several contracts. The company’s success attracted the attention of other potential clients, and he was was able to exceed his revenue goal he needed to take his company to the next level.

Currently, his company is on track to become one of the most successful companies in its industry. My clients resilience and determination has paid off, and he was able to turn his struggling business into a thriving enterprise.

This story illustrates how resilience can be key to success in the business world. No matter how many setbacks or challenges we face, if we stay determined and never give up, we can achieve great things.

Remember, it’s not about how many times we fall down, it’s about how many times we get back up. Keep fighting, keep pushing through.

Stress Compromises Your Mental Health and Wellbeing

In this video I talk a about stress, the nature of stress and the implications of stress. So in order to do that, I want to share a metaphor with you. The metaphor is that of a car and a cars dashboard. Most cars whether they’re an automatic or manual drive, they’ll have on the dashboard, what’s called a tachometer . The vehicles tachometer which measures the working speed of an engine, typically in revolutions per minute (RPM’s). Most people who have seen a car’s dash, will recognize that the tachometer goes from one thousand RPM’s all the way up to ten thousand RPM’s depending on the vehicle. You’ll notice that the higher the RMP’s are, you’ll start seeing red lines which typically start at about six thousand RPM’s. It is those red lines that are likened to what I call a stress. So the red lines are kind of a warning sign letting you know that it’s time to shift gears and that you’re pushing the engine to its limits, hence stressing the engine. People who are aware of this, understand that if you’re looking for the best fuel economy, it’s best to keep a light foot on the gas peddle. People realize that when they race around town and they’re red lining the vehicle, that their fuel economy isn’t the best. You don’t get the best gas mileage when you are redlining RPM’s, you end up consuming a tremendous amount of fuel and stressing out your car. Human beings also have a dashboard that measures both fuel efficiency and stress, it’s TPM’s which means thoughts per minute.

It Matters Where To Look For Success And Well Being

Have you ever heard the sage advice of look within and there you will find the answer to all of your problems.

But, what the heck does that actually mean.

Having been on my own path for years I would get this kind of advice, either directly from my teachers or the types of books that I had immersed myself in.

First of all the times that I was most prone to look within was when I was in a low mood and in a disturbed state of mind.

Any guesses what I saw when I looked within. You got it, it was a shit show.

So when I meditated I would be bombarded with negative and insecure thoughts raging though the system.

When I journaled it was more like vomiting my poor is me and victim consciousness unto countless pages within my journals. I dreaded the thought of anyone seeing the depressing content of my mind that made it’s way to the pages of my journals.

When I looked within I just kept bumping into my ego, my strengths and weaknesses. As a result I would strategize how to compensate for my short comings and highlight my virtues but I never saw that I was simply reacting my personal thinking.

You see in those early years of looking within all I could see were my personal thoughts. Getting tripped up on my personal thinking was a trap and it  wasn’t what my teachers where pointing to when they said look within.

But, I was committed to being a good student and wanted to feel better.

Hindsight is 20/20 and now I can see clearly where I went wrong. And, I would like to save you time and money in understanding what it really means to look within.

Okay, I going invite you to take a giant leap with me.

You have thoughts but you are not your thoughts.

You have a body but you are not your body.

So, looking within is to look deeper then your personal thoughts and physical body.

Imagine peeling an onion, layer after layer. What is at the center of that onion?

When you look within you are doing the same thing as peeling back the layers of an onion.

What you will find is an invisible power that lives within you that has an intelligence designed for your success and wellbeing.

Every human being has the ability to recognize this invisible power. The key is that your true power comes via insight and not your intellect.

When people have even the smallest insight into their true nature it has tremendous implications in every aspect of life.

People’s relationships improve, professionals find their mojo, employee engagement improves, people who suffer from stress and anxiety find peace of mind. The list goes on and on.

Listen to a recent podcast with Chris Robinson and myself as we share our insights from looking in the right direction and how it applies in business and beyond.

If you would like my help understanding where to look to find the solutions to any problem you have, consider joining me at my next 3 Day State of Mind Coaching Immersion where I teach people how their minds work and what is means to look within.

Are Unproductive Thoughts Running You?

I wanted to talk a bit about two types of thought that when exposed is helpful for people.

If you want to be more productive then you will need more productive thought period.

One of the quickest ways to increasing productive thought is to be able to discern productive thought from unproductive thought.

So, what is unproductive thought? Well, I will speak for myself, for me unproductive thought is worrying, ruminating about the past, comparing myself with others, and overthinking. I could go on and on but I won’t bore you.

Now, you might be wondering what productive thought is. It is actually the absence of unproductive thought.

Some call it clarity of mind.

When a person’s mind is free of unproductive thought they feel inspired to take action.

In my mind inspired action is the most productive work a person could be engaged with.

Think about it, how productive is uninspired work?

Uninspired work can produce short term gains but it is not sustainable and comes with heavy personal costs.

Learning to access productive thought and taking inspired action to forward your goals is easier than you think.

The first step is to wake up to how your mind really works.

When people are able to see their unproductive thoughts are running and often ruining their lives it is a complete game changer.

Remember that people can never outperform their state of mind.

Are you ready to unleash the power of productive thought?

Put Relationship First, Results Second

Coach Greg Clowminzer here and in this short video I want to talk about building strong customer client relationships or professional relationships. Watch Now!

People often hire professionals based on referral, reputation, affordability and availability but they stick around because of both the value you provide and the strength of the relationship you create.

Focus on strengthening relationships first, then ask for the business.

If you want your business to grow quicker, put relationships ahead of results.

One of the biggest mistakes professionals make is getting attached or fixated on the results. Thinking about the sale, thinking about billable hours, thinking about the fairness of the exchange of service for the amount they’re getting compensated for. Too often professionals are over focused on the results.

One of the ways that shows up is that when people meet with the business owners, sales rep, professional service providers will come in with a strong pitch and very poor listening.

Many professionals spend an enormous amount of time thinking they are building rapport, when really all they are actually doing is hanging out their comfort zone. It’s often because of a lack of confidence that people hang out but then never ask for the business.

The other place people get into a big trouble is advocating and just talking about their services, how great they are, how great, how much value they have, all the benefits they have. And they’re really not assessing the client situations.

They’re not doing proper intake or gathering enough information to see if they can actually be of service or help someone.

So in this video, I just want to remind you to put relationships first and results.

I worked with a CPA who is seasoned veteran in his business. I’ll never forget when he had this epiphany, the moment when he realized looking back on his career, he was so hell bent on billable hours, growing the business but his approach was very transactional.

When he had a moment of truth, his moment of understanding where he saw the fact that he had it all wrong. That strengthening and developing relationships was the key to client longevity and client retention. So we worked together on the skills and mindset necessary to create long and lasting relationships with clients.

All right, thanks for watching.
